ACTING TECHNIQUE - Creating a Character (Online Workshop)
Date & Time: Wednesday October 7th 2020, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Learn all about acting approaches from the Morris technique to integrate instrument preparation into the creation of a character. Held over Zoom, this session will include:
- Instrument approaches to connect to the inner life of a character
- Developing impulse to work with acting freedom
- Building given circumstances to create the world of a character
- Performing a character organically on screen

Date & Time: Thursday October 8th 2020, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Students will engage with one of AFTT’s experienced film trainers to simplify and breakdown the filmmaking process, from concept creation to delivery method. This workshop will be interactive and help develop and streamline your current or emerging process. Held over Zoom, this session will include:
- Ideas and concepts
- Script Development (Structure/Character/Dialogue)

THEATRE PRODUCTION On Campus Workshop
Date & Time: Friday October 9th 2020, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Academy of Film, Theatre & Television, 41 Holt Street, Surry Hills, NSW, 2010
Join us in a unique experience to participate in a technical theatre & stage management workshop, where you will collaborate to help plan a performance from conception through to completion. This invaluable experience will give you the opportunity to get firsthand experience in professional stage management & technical theatre practices, by the end you will have what it takes to run a technical rehearsal and be an integral part of a theatre company. This session will be held on campus and will include:
- Play the role of stage manager and director
- Technical rehearsals
- Collaborate in technical workshop
- Show calling
- Operating of lights and sound
