AFTT’s courses are structured around students completing a range of collaborative and creative projects that engage with and reflect contemporary industry practice. Students participate in classroom and studio-based learning and assessment activities as well as simulated workplace tasks and industry based productions. In this way, the Academy of Film, Theatre & Television (AFTT) operates like a working professional community.

ACTING

Acting instrument, Film Instrument, Actor and the Text, Singing Recital, Actor as Artist, Actors Process, Small Theatre Company Production, Australian Prose, Physicality in Performance, Shakespeare, Voice-Body-&-The Actor, Visual Storytelling, Actor as Filmmaker, Acting Theory & Approaches, Professional Development, New Media & the Actor, Script Phonetics, American Theatre, Heightened Language, Devised Theatre, Technique Research & Analysis, Actor as Creator, Australian Performance History, Showreel, The Actor at Work, The Audition and Casting process, the Actor’s Portfolio, Film genre & style, Performance-Text-&-Playwright, The Entrepreneurial actor, The Actor’s Wellbeing, and Career Management.
FILM
The following subjects and projects will be completed in the DIPLOMA:
The Idea, Record Sound on Location, Film Production Project, Directing Coverage, WH&S, Finding the Light, Auditions, Directing Performance, Career Management, and The Short – Major Project.
The following subjects and projects will be completed in the ADVANCED DIPLOMA:
Stalker Project, Sound Design, Television Commercial (TVC), Collaborate with Editors, Marketing, and Major Project.
THEATRE PRODUCTION
The following subjects and projects will be completed in the DIPLOMA:
Subjects: Stage Management, Production Timeline, Show Calling, People Management, WHS Risk, Implementing Lighting and Sound design, Floor Plans, Prop Making and Sourcing, Time Management, Team Management and Leadership, Production Documentation.
Productions: Small Theatre Company Production, Heightened Language, Graduate Theatre Production, the Festival of the Creator, American Theatre, Singing Recital and Devised Theatre.
